Mbarara City FC have backed up their technical staff led by Francis Mugerwa with a massive recruitment drive ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The club has already confirmed eight new signings as they build a squad for the new season that kicks off on August 28.
The new arrivals are:
• Brian Aheebwa– Striker from Ethiopian side Arba Minch City FC. Former Uganda Cranes forward returns to the UPL after spells at KCCA FC.
•Rogers Mugisha– Attacking midfielder from KCCA FC. Creative force and set-piece specialist.
• Ivan Bogere– Striker from UPDF FC. Powerful forward expected to lead the line.
• Eric Tumwine– Midfielder from Kitara FC. Hard-working central midfielder.
• Iran Musunguzi and Akoragye Hassan– Duo from FUFA Big League side Kyambura Rasters, adding depth in attack and defence.
• Solomon Okwalinga – Winger from Lugazi FC. Pacy wide man.
• Mahad Rashid– Defender from Bunyaruguru United. Young centre-back from Western Uganda.
Mbarara City open their campaign away to Police FC at Kira Police Arena on August 29, before visiting NEC FC in a blockbuster at Rwamwanja Stadium.
The club is expected to unveil more signings in the coming days, with a goalkeeper and foreign centre-back still on the wishlist.
