KCCA FC midfielder Bright Anukani is set to feature for Tanzanian giants Simba SC at the ongoing Mapinduzi Cup in Zanzibar.
Anukani was not licensed for the 2025/26 Uganda Premier League season by KCCA FC and has recently been demoted to the club’s junior team, where he has been training.
In search of greener pastures, the skillful midfielder was invited for trials in Tanzania and has since linked up with the Simba SC squad in Zanzibar for the Mapinduzi Cup.
The Tanzanian giants begin their Mapinduzi Cup campaign on Saturday, January 3, against Muembe Makumbi City at the New Amaan Stadium in Zanzibar.
Despite traveling with the Simba SC contingent, Anukani has been ruled out of the opening match against Muembe Makumbi City but is expected to feature in the subsequent games of the tournament.
Anukani first caught the attention of football enthusiasts during his time at Proline FC, where he was named the FUFA Big League Most Valuable Player in 2019.
He has previously featured for Proline FC, Vipers SC and KCCA FC across two separate stints.
