Vipers SC midfielder Abdul Karim Watambala has been named as the Uganda Premier League Most Valuable player of the 2025/26 season.
Watambala was crowned as the MVP at the event held on Friday at Kati Kati Restaurant in Lugogo.
He beat other nominess in SC Villa duo Frank Ssebufu and Raymond Barasa Mangoli, league top scorer Ivan Ahimbisibwe (KCCA FC) and Ambrose Kigozi (Entebbe UPPC) to the accolade.
Watambala helped Vipers to their eighth league triumph, scoring 12 goals and contributing four assists as the Kitende based side retained the title.
Watambala was also named as the Club’s Most Valuable Player of the just concluded campaign and he also made the Uganda Premier League team of the season.
UPDF’s youngster Enrique Lubwama was named as the young player of the season while Hannington Ssebwalunyo who had 13 cleansheets won the golden glove accolade. Ahimbisibwe smiled to the gloden boot for finishing as the top scorer with 14 goals.
