Uganda Cranes striker Steven Dese Mukwala has joined Al Nasr Benghazi from Tanzanian giants Simba SC.
Mukwala who was in the final six months of his Simba SC contract, has signed a one and half year contract with the Libyan Giants.
Mukwala has embraced a new challenge in his career with a bold move to North Africa.
He scored a total of 13 goals in 28 games for Simba SC since joining the club Ghana’s Asante Kotoko SC in July 2024.
His new club Al Nasr Benghazi, are three time champions of the Libyan Premier League who last won the title in 2024.
Al Nasr, who famously eliminated Proline FC in the 2019/20 CAF Confederation Cup, host their league games at the Martyrs of February Stadium in Benghazi.
The Libyan Premier League is also home to former Vipers and Express FC striker Erick Kambale, who currently plays for Al Sadaqa SC.
Mukwala’s career path has seen his turn out for Edgar’s Youth, Vipers SC, Maroons FC, URA FC and Asante Kotoko as well as the Uganda Cranes.
