SC Villa managed to squeeze past Calvary FC, claiming a 1-0 victory in a Uganda Premier League encounter at FUFA Stadium, Kadiba.
Aslam Ssemakula scored the only goal of the game, converting from the spot with a left footed strike into the top corner.
The penalty was awarded after five minutes after Calvary defender Stephen Oriokot pulled down Najib Yiga in the box.
Frank Ssebuufu missed a keeper to beat chance after he was set up by Frank Mulimi and he later headed into the side net with the goalkeeper off his line.
Calvary FC had good spells in the game but failed to create meaningful opportunities.
Their best chance arrived in the 75th minute with Ibrahim Dada denied from a tight angle before Junior Emmanuel Ojok fired a rebound wide.
SC Villa keeps pace with the leaders, and are now third on the table with 23 points, three adrift of leaders KCCA FC.
Calvary FC remain without a win in top flight after 11 games and sit rock bottom with just three points.
