Uganda Premier League record champions SC Villa have confirmed the date for the Presidential Elections.

During the Annual General Meeting, the club set March 22 as the due date for elections of new leadership, with the vetting process set for the next couple of days.

It should be noted theThe elections were to be held in November last year but were extended by the Board of Trustees.

The Annual General Meeting that was held in the suburbs of Kampala in Ntinda at East High School, Kulambiro, the registered members under the Villa Members Trust (VMT) attended the event.

The VMTs unanimously agreed that those who are interested in contesting for presidency will have to pay a non-refundable fee of Shs100m.

Incumbent Club president Al Hajji Omar Mandela has meanwhile confirmed that he will once again contest for the same position.

“I never wanted to come back but a few people convinced me, the club was in debt of Shs550M brought by those making noise in the media.”

“Uganda’s problem is everyone wants already done things. There’s too much noise but I am here. I beg the fans to be patient with the process to compete on the continent, you need at least five years to build a good team. We are trying to do that for now let’s work together and grow the club. I want to confirm that I am around, I am not going anywhere like it’s been said.” Said Mandela.
