Ugandan rally driver Musa Ssegaabwe of Segamu 14 Racing has unveiled a brand-new Škoda Fabia N5, one of the most advanced rally cars on the market ahead of the 2026 season.

Ssegaabwe who finished second overall in the National Championship to Ronald Ssebuguzi, says they had to upgrade from Mitsubishi Evo 9 to put up massive title charge this year.

“We have driven rally for two years now, this is going to be our third year. The first two years we have been driving Mitsubishi Evo 9 and i should say it has given us what we wanted. We are very happy and last year we almost won the championship but we lost to our brother Ronald Ssebuguzi.”

“Last year, we were competing with many cars including those we call bukere. When you compare those cars with Evo 9, we saw that there was a big gap. This prompted us to bring a Skoda Fabia Rs5 made by RMC, so that we can reach the power of the protos. This car is made from Spain and it’s first rally is going to be in Mbale this month.” Said Ssegaabwe before adding that the investment is not about status but competitiveness

“We want to put up competition since this new car is better than Evo 9. This year we have prepared well and ready to fight for the championship.”

Ssebuguzi, the man who beat Ssegaabwe to the championship last year has hailed his competitor for investing in the sport.

“I happy that my brother has invested in the brand new car, this is great for the sport and I expect him to be competitive just like he was last year. It is great car and I can’t wait to battle him once again this year.”

The investment, including spares, approached Shs 700 million. Annual maintenance alone is projected at Shs 350 million.

Ssegaabwe is born and raised in Luwero is also the managing director of Segamu 14 Consults Limited, an engineering consultancy specializing in infrastructure design, project supervision, and feasibility studies. That corporate success bankrolls his racing dream.

Ssegamu 14 Consults is the primary sponsor of Ssegamu 14 Racing, a team built on professionalism and accountability.
