New Uganda Premier League comers are set to appoint Robert Mukasa ‘Kiyenje’ as their new head coach, according to 102.1 FUFA FM.
Mukasa has been in the dug out during Kataka’s engagements in the Mbale Super 8 Tournament.
He is expected to take helms at the club to fill Godfrey Awachango Toldo’s void who doesn’t qualify to be a head coach since he doesn’t hold a CAF A Coaching License.
Mukasa last served as Buhimba United Saints head coach in the closing half of last season as the club succumbed to relegation back to the FUFA Big League.
He brings experience with him having previously coached at SC Villa, URA FC, Entebbe UPPC (Gaddafi FC), UTODA FC and Katwe United among others.
It should be noted that Mukasa guided Entebbe UPPC to a topflight promotion in the 2024/25 season before he was eventually relieved of his duties by the club.
Kataka will be taking part in the Uganda Premier League for their first time having earned promotion from the second tier at the end of last season.
The Lufumbi Boys will be using Bukedea Comprehensive Sports Complex as their temporary home ground since Mbale City Stadium didn’t meet the licensing standards.
Kataka will start their campaign with a visit to UPDF FC at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo on Saturday 29th August.
