Tenants NEC FC will host KCCA FC in the Lugogo showdown derby on Friday night.

KCCA FC will be seeking to close the gap on table leaders Vipers who visit BUL FC in the other game on Friday.

KCCA FC are currently fourth on the table with 30 points they garnered in the first round.

Co-coach Brian Ssenyondo is optimistic that his side will end the title drought this term but will need to take every game as a final.

“We have 15 finals and if we win all them, it means we will be champions at the end of the season,” said Ssenyondo in a pre-match briefing.

Ssenyondo however expects a tough contest against NEC

“It is a tough game but we want to come back stronger after what happened towards the end of the first round and start on the high note,” he stated

NEC have been busy in the transfer market having beefed up their squad with Express FC quartet of Richard Basangwa, Hakim Wandera, Rashid Kawawa and Muhammad Ssenoga who reunited with coach Badru Kaddu. Tony Atukunda and goalkeeper Juma Mutebi are the other new recruits at NEC.

NEC finished the first round 7th with 20 points. They lost 2-1 to KCCA in the first round.

Kaddu’s men have won three and lost twice in the five league meetings against KCCA FC.
