NEC FC extended their unbeaten stretch to 11 games after a hard fought 1-0 away win over Police in a Uganda Premier League match at Kira Road playground in Kamwokya.
Mohammed Kagawa Ssenoga scored the all important goal to hand maximum points in a closely contested match.
Kagawa headed home a from Hakim Wandera’s free-kick in the second half, with the goal orchestrated by two mid-season signings from Express players.
NEC created the better chances, with Richard Basangwa, Samuel Ssekamatte and Emmanuel Kulanga all coming close.
Police on the other hand, lacked conviction in a game two lanky attackers Brian James Onedi and Bedia Juma Ikamba failed to create an impact.
The run of 11 games unbeaten stretches from December since the defeat against KCCA – This, is their sixth victory during this spell.
Matia Lule’s side lacked the vigor that helped the side overcome SC Villa last week at the same venue.
And the result is a defeat, their sixth this season, leaving the side to 35 points after 21 games, one point above NEC FC in seventh.
