Kakungulu Memorial Secondary School, Kibuli, is in advanced stages of appointing two FUFA Women Super League coaches to spearhead the school’s girls’ football project.
Bright Nyanzi Taddeo and Isma Mukiibi are set to join Kakungulu Memorial, pending final arrangements.
According to reports, the duo will join the school on a one-year renewable employment contract.
The two coaches currently serve at FUFA Women Super League side Rines SS Women Football Club, with Nyanzi as head coach and Mukiibi as his assistant.
Nyanzi guided Rines SS to promotion to the FUFA Women Super League in 2021 and has since overseen the club’s sustained participation at the top level.
In 2024, he led the side to the FUFA Women Cup final, where they narrowly lost to She Corporate FC on penalties. Mukiibi was part of the technical team throughout this period as assistant coach.
Beyond his role at Rines, Mukiibi is also the founder of Dream Girls Soccer Academy, widely regarded as one of the leading girls’ football academies in Uganda.
With a combined experience of more than 12 years in girls’ football, the two coaches are known for their ability to nurture young talent and build competitive teams.
Kakungulu Memorial Secondary School is reviving its girls’ football programme as part of a broader effort to return to prominence in the sport.
The school aims to compete with established powerhouses such as Kawempe Muslim Secondary School, Amus College, Uganda Martyrs High School, and St. Noa Girls Secondary School.
In the early 2000s, Kakungulu Memorial was among the leading football schools in the country.
The immediate objective of the renewed project is to qualify for the 2026 USSSA Games, which will be hosted by Seroma Christian High School in Mukono.
