SC Villa will make a trip to Lugazi to take on relegation threatened Lugazi FC on Wednesday.

The Jogoos need to maximize points to stay in contention for the title following victories for Vipers and KCCA respectively on Tuesday.

Zeljko Kovacevic’s men take on a side that is fighting to beat the drop.

Villa is on 45 points, 10-drift of leaders Vipers and are in a must win contest if they are to keep their title hopes alive. The Jogoos are likely to miss the services of Patrick Kakande who was forced off in the 1-1 draw against Vipers.

Lugazi are aiming for their first win since the 2-1 win over in February. They have gone seven matches without victory.

Lugazi FC’s head coach Simon Peter Mugerwa whose side is 13th with 20 points believes they can build on stalemates against Entebbe UPPC and Calvary.

“We had good performances against both UPPC and Calvary and it is that that we need to transform into results,” he said. “We face a Villa side in good form but at home, we believe we can pick a result against them,” he added.

The two sides played out to a goalless draw in their first round meeting at FUFA Kadiba Stadium.

Villa will look up to Frank Ssebuufu and inform Hassan Mubiru for inspiration.

Meanwhile, Kitara FC will seek to return to winning ways against Calvary at Royal Park, Butema in the other game on Wednesday.
