URA FC will entertain SC Villa in the first leg of their Stanbic Uganda Cup semifinal contest against SC Villa on Monday, 4th May under the lights of Nakivubo Stadium.
The tax collectors will be without midfielder John Innocent Kisolo and defender Bright Vuni, both suspended through card accumulation.
Hussein Mbalangu’s side will miss the services of injured trio, Arthur Kiggundu, Olimi Nyarwa and Abdul Magada.
URA are three time Stanbic Uganda Cup winners with their most recent triumph coming in 2014 when they overcame KCCA FC in Mbale on penalties 4-2 after a 2-2 draw in normal time.
SC Villa on the other hand are nine time winners and are seeking their first final in a decade. They last reached the final of the Stanbic Uganda Cup in 2015 when they thrashed KCCA 3-0 at Mandela National Stadium in Namboole.
Villa is unbeaten in seven consecutive games while facing the tax collectors, managing three wins and four draws.
Ironically the previous four games that URA has hosted Villa have all ended in stalemates. In fact, URA is unbeaten at home against Villa in eleven games, winning six and five draws.
The tax collects eliminated KCCA FC at the quarterfinal stage coming from two goals down to draw 2-2 before winning on penalties.
Villa on the other hand edged lower division side Happy Boyz Kagaba 1-0 to reach this stage.
This is also the first time that the Jogoos are in the semis since 2018 when they were eliminated by Vipers SC 1-0 on aggregate.
