Express FC has officially announced the departure of four players who have all joined fellow UPL side NEC FC.

The four are; Richard Basangwa, Hakim Wandera, Muhammad Ssenoga Kagawa and Abdulahi Rashid Kawawa.

” The club would like to inform the general public of the departure of Basangwa, Kagawa, Kawawa, and Wandera..”

“Thank you for the memories and wishing you all the best in your next adventure,” Reads the statement posted by the club on the social media platforms.

The quartet reunites with their former coach Badru Kaddu who was their coach at Express FC before he switched to NEC FC earlier this season.

Basangwa joined Express FC as a free agent from Egyptian side Wadi Degla in 2024 and played a total of 33 league games scoring three goals and assisting five others.

Kagawa Ssenoga, who has so far scored six league goals this season, has already played and scored for NEC FC in their 2-0 win over Mabira TC in the Stanbic Uganda Cup.

Kagawa joined Express in 2024 and scored a total of seven league goals and two assists in the 27 games he played.

Left-back Wandera also joined the club at the start of the 2024/25 season and went on to play a total of 30 league games.

Kawawa scored four league goals and assisted three others in the 29 games he played for the Red Eagles.

Express FC is expected to embark on recruiting a couple of new players as replacements for the already departed.
