Seven time Uganda Premier League champions Express FC have completed the signing of Buddu Ssaza team midfielder Nicholas Jjonga.
Swift Sports Uganda understands that Jjonga has signed a two year employment contract with the Red Eagles ahead of their rebuild for the 2026/27 campaign.
Jjonga has also been on record league champions SC Villa radar for the past few months but their arch-rivals Express FC have won the battle.
The holding midfielder has been vital for Buddu during this year’s Masaza Cup tournament as they remain the only unbeaten side in the competition.
He also helped Uganda Martyrs University win the Pepsi University Football League trophy in 2025 under the stewardship of Eric Kisuze who is also his coach at Buddu.
Express has already sealed deals for Isaac Wagoina and musician-cum-footballer Derrick Ddungu alias Rickman Manrick with more players set to join the red side.
