Ntugasaze FC made an impressive return to action in the second round of the FUFA Big League with a dominant 4-1 victory over Nebbi Central FC on Sunday at Mityana Ssaza Ground.
The Mityana-based side was in scintillating form, with Abdallah Kawanguzi, James Jarieko, Godfrey Kakooza, and Brian Omirambe all finding the back of the net in a comprehensive win.
Nebbi Central tried to mount a response through Sabir Edema while at 3-0, who managed to pull one goal back for the visitors.
However, his effort proved to be a mere consolation as Ntugasaze maintained control throughout the match.
The victory leaves Ntugasaze FC in second place in the standings with 28 points, just one point behind leaders Blacks Power.
The victory became even more crucial after leaders Blacks Power suffered a surprise 2-1 loss to Young Elephants on the same day.
On the other hand, the defeat leaves Nebbi Central in a precarious position, having now suffered six defeats this season. They currently sit in 11th place on the 16-team log, just one point above the relegation zone.
Ntugasaze FC will look to build on this solid performance when they welcome Uganda Premier League outfits Express FC on Wednesday in Uganda Cup round of 32 clash.
