Blacks Power maintained their hold at the top of the FUFA Big League table following a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Kataka FC today at the Ebenezer University Grounds in Lira.

Andrea Ogwal scored the decisive goal in the 60th minute, lifting Blacks Power to 39 points after 21 matches.

It’s now three wins in a row for the table leaders having beaten Kaaro Karungi and CATDA earlier.

The result deals a blow to Mbale-based Kataka, who suffered their 10th defeat of the season, denting their hopes of securing promotion to the Uganda Premier League.

Kataka drops out of the top four, now fifth with 34 points after 22 games.

Kigezi HomeBoyz remain second on the table, level on 39 points, after edging Bright Stars 1-0 in Kabale.

Despite having a better goal difference, Kigezi HomeBoyz see edged at the top by a better head to head.

Blacks Power beat Kigezi 1-0 in Lira in their only meeting this season, with the second round fixture scheduled for May 17.
