Newly elected Kampala City Lord Mayor Hon. Ronald Balimwezo Nsubuga will replace outgoing Erias Lukwago as KCCA FC patron.
Balimwezo ended Lukwago’s tenure as Lord Mayor during the election held on Thursday, 22nd January in Kampala.
The National Unity Platform flagged bearer secured his victory after garnering 141220 votes in the tense race.
Balimwezo’s victory will also see KCCA FC usher in a new patron. For the last 15 years, Lukwago has been serving as the club Patron.
During that time, KCCA won five league titles and several Uganda Cup trophies as well as becoming the first Ugandan side to reach the CAF Champions League group stages in 2018.
Balimwezo is also a sportsman and has always stated that he was a boxer. The KCCA FC faithfuls will hope he plays a vital role for the club in the capacity of the club Patron. Balimwezo’s tenure as Kampala City Lord Mayor will officially begin in May this year.
