    *Buhimba United Saints 1-0 Maroons
    *Police 2-0 KCCA
    *Vipers 2-0 Mbarara City

Vipers moved top of the Uganda Premier League standings after a deserved 2-0 victory over Mbarara City at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.

Allan Okello and Karim Watambala were on target as the Venoms registered their eighth win in 11 matches this season.

Vipers took the lead in the 37th minute from the penalty spot after goalkeeper Fahad Emuran was judged to have fouled Milton Karisa. Okello, who missed a penalty for Uganda Cranes against Tanzania at AFCON, made no mistake this time, calmly converting despite Emuran guessing the right way.

The hosts doubled their advantage five minutes into the second half. With Mbarara City pushing high up the pitch, Watambala capitalised on a mistake by Mulambuzi, winning possession and finishing into an empty net.

Mbarara City, still without a head coach since the dismissal of Simon Peter Mugerwa in November, struggled to create clear-cut chances. They will feel aggrieved by referee Diana Murungi’s decision to award the penalty, before defensive errors compounded their problems.

Vipers, who have a game in hand, now lead the table with 27 points, one ahead of KCCA, who lost 2-0 to Police FC.
