Charles Lwanga’s SC Villa future looks bleak after his agents recent claims regarding the future of the forward at the record Uganda Premier League champions.

According to Daily Monitor, Lwanga’s agents claim the striker has been sidelined after declining to renew his contract, alleging the club’s stance is aimed at lowering his market value ahead of a potential move abroad.

Lwanga’s curret contract expires at the end of this season and SC Villa don’t want to lose him on a free like during his first stint at the club.

In June 2020, Lwanga left SC Villa and joined rivals KCCA FC after the FUFA Player Status Committee ruled in his favour against the Jogoos over unpaid sign-on fees and salaries.

At KCCA, he made 55 league appearances in three seasons, scoring 17 goals before termination of his contract by mutual consent.

He returned to SC Villa at the start of the 2023/24 season and helped the side end its 20-year title drought in that particular season.

Last term, he was SC Villa’s top scorer in the league with 11 goals while Patrick Jonah Kakande managed eight goals for the club. This season, Lwanga has had limited playing time with his only goal for the club coming in October during Villa’s 2-1 win over Police FC last year.

Controversy once again continues to follow the forward following claims by his agents in regards to his future at SC Villa.
