Night football returns to Lugogo after floodlight upgrade

Night football will return to Lugogo after the latest major infrastructure upgrades for the stadium’s floodlighting system from 503 lux to a minimum output of 1,020 lux.
KCCA FC are yet to host night games this term due to lighting issues at the MTN Omondi Stadium and will now resume hosting fixtures under the lights, following the new development.
The technical upgrades were done by KCCA FC’s principal shirt sponsor and official lighting partner CHINT Uganda.
“When we first introduced night football at Lugogo, it was a dream to transform how fans experience matchdays. Upgrading the lighting to a minimum of 1,020 lux reflects our growing commitment. After four fruitful years with KCCA FC, renewing our partnership for two more years was inevitable. We are excited to continue lighting up the KCCA FC stadium and boosting the experience and passion of Ugandan football,” Namutebi Sherry Shi, Founder & MD, CHINT Uganda stated.
KCCA FC chairman Eng. Andrew Mukiibi Sserunjogi had this to say about the latest development:
“Our four-year journey with CHINT has gone beyond just sponsorship. It is a partnership built on progress and innovation. Upgrading our floodlights to a minimum of 1,020 lux definitely changes the game for us. Playing our upcoming matches under the lights gives our fans the modern matchday experience they deserve,” the KCCA FC chairman said as quoted by the club.
KCCA FC is expected to welcome back night football at the venue on 22nd October when they will entertain UPDF FC in the league game.
