Knowledge Musona secured Zimbabwe’s first point at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations after a 1-1 draw with Angola.
Musona scored at the stroke of halftime to cancel Jacinto Gelson Dala opener at Stade de Marrakech.
In a well worked move, Gelson received from To Carneilo from inside the area, and accorded more space, fired at the near-post for the opener.
The equaliser came from a swift break at the stroke of halftime, with Musona cooly controlling after he was picked by Bill Antonio before finding the back of the net with a right-footed effort from a difficult angle.
Both sides failed to get the winner in the second half, and a 1-1 draw was a perfect result.
Musona has now scored in three of four AFCON tournaments he has represented Zimbabwe, a huge milestone for the 35-year old who came out of retirement in March this year.
He scored in a 2-4 defeat against Tunisia in 2017 AFCON in Libreville, missed scoring at 2019 AFC0N in Egypt, he scored against Guinea in a 2-1 win in 2021 AFCON in Yaounde.
Zimbabwe who lost 2-1 to Egypt, will face South Africa in their last match.
Angola on the other hand, lost to South Africa 2-1 in their opener and will meet Egypt on Matchday 3.
