SC Villa cruised to a 3-0 win over Kigezi Homeboyz as the two sides faced off in the Uganda Premier League contest at the Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku on Tuesday.
Patrick Kakande, Aslam Ssemakula and Andrew Otim scored the three goals for the record league champions.
Kigezi Homeboyz goalkeeper Norman Angufindru, who was facing his former side, fouled Kakande in the forbidden area in the 15th minute, with the referee pointing to the spot.
Kakande himself took the responsibility and comfortably beat Angufindru to give Villa the lead.
Three minutes later, Ssemakula doubled Villa’s advantage with a sensational strike to head into the break with a comfortable lead.
Second-half substitute Otim had his effort go inches wide in the 67th minute moments after his introduction.
With ten minutes to regulation time, Otim finally got his goal when he rose highest to nod new signing Brian Mato’s corner kick into the back of the net.
Villa who registered a third consecutive win is now third on the UPL standings with 10 points from four matches, while Kigezi Homeboyz stay 15th with just a point and a game in hand.
