The group stage of the 2026 Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) Boys football championship in Lira City is set to climax on Wednesday.
So far 12 schools have secured slots to the round of 32 with the rest expected to learn their fate after Wednesday’s group games.
Defending champions Buddo Secondary Schools, Kyadondo S.S, Amus College, Mukono Kings, Ssingo S.S, NUMASA, Bukedea Comprehensive School South, Green Light Islamic School, St Joseph Buyaga, Masaka S.S, Aiden College Wakiso and Mvara SS are the schools so far through to the round of 32.
Mvara SS managed by former Uganda Cranes forward Caesar Samson Okhuti sealed their slot with a 2-1 comeback win over Iganga Parents in a Group J contest.
Eric Alafi Lumago and Edgar Omaki struck for Mvara while David Mugerwa’s opener turned into a consolation for Iganga.
Okhuti featured for KCCA, Express, Vipers and Onduparaka during his playing time.
Joint record competition holders St.Mary’s Kitende are expected to join the knockout party with victory over Seroma Christian High.
The group stage climaxes today with the top two teams in each group advancing to the round of 32 before proceeding to the round of 16, Quarterfinals, semis and then the final.
